The Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus is a powerful 800 watt dual speed juicer equipped with an extra large feeding chute to eliminate the need for chopping and slicing fruits and vegetables before juicing. The Breville JE98XL juice is made of a sturdy polymer mix material that is stain resistant and is top shelf dishwasher safe. It is available in a stylish smoky color that accents any kitchen decor. With the dimensions of approximately 13x16x18 inches it fits fine on any counter top but due to its height unfortunately it does not fit under most standard cabinets.

Some of the added features on the Breville JE98XL juicer is a safety locking arm and an LED overload protection shut off on the motor. The 3 inch feeding chute is able to hold much more produce while still giving out the maximum amount of juice in seconds. It has an extra large 2.5 liter pulp container that retains any missed stems, seeds and pulp and the stainless steel micro mesh filter basket is easily removed for cleaning with the included brush. There has been some complaints though of the filter (or screen) becoming clogged rather quickly when trying to make more than one glass of juice at a time.

The Breville JE98XL juicer has a dual speed motor, running at 12,000 RPMs for high speed and 6,500 RPMs for low speed. High speed is excellent for thick skinned fruits and hard vegetables such as pineapples, apples and carrots. The lower speed works great with all leafy green vegetables, and soft fruits such as oranges and grapefruits. Most consumers agree that the Breville JE98XL is capable of producing 8 ounces of juice in less than 30 seconds and the machine it runs rather quietly. Although there are some complaints on excessive frothing, the 1 liter juice carafe does come equipped with a built in froth separator. Clean up is a breeze with just hand rinsing daily but it is suggested to put a baggie in the pulp container for an even quicker cleaning.

The BrevilleJE98XL has been my first juicer ever. I also have a Vitamix and Blend Tec blender. Both make more smoothies than juices. This is a great juicer but not a substitute for a great blender. Anyway about the juicer… I use it primarily for veggies, not fruits, I like to eat my fruits whole. When juicing fruits it does seem to leave a lot of wet pulp behind, veggies, the pulp seems to be drier. Yes it’s not great on leaves like spinach, but as the manual says it works better if you mix these with hard things and or try to ball or roll them up. Read the manual carefully. It’s really important to clean out the strainer between uses, due to the fine screen. I soak it for about 10 minutes then clean it with the brush. When using the juicer they recommend going low for the softer stuff then high for the harder stuff. I’ve been toying with alternating the juicier stuff followed by the dry stuff, thinking it may clean out the screen better during usage. The juice I get out of this is incredible. Clean up very easy. About 5 minutes except for letting the strainer soak. Clean it before drinking the juice so it doesn’t dry out and stick. Usually just rinsing works pretty good. I keep the motor base on about a 3/16 inch small plastic cutting board, and it makes sliding the pulp catcher easier to put in and take out, as it gives it more room (the cutting board is not under the container). I can also then slide the whole contraption around easier on my counter. I can see where eventually I’ll need another screen though.
